I have been trying to slow my ball speed down by holding the ball very low and having very little back swing which seems to be giving me a better reaction with my ball tonight so hopefully this may be something I can keep working on.

second week of the summer league tonight and bowled 210-171-171 (552)

second week I have posted the same score twice and a 200+ score.. spooky lol

This league is a much better quality of players than the other league and although it is early day I seem to be bowling much better, which raises the question is the level of competition bring the best out of me? or am I just having a couple of good weeks? smirk

660 something, today. Hit my target with regularity. Nice and easy swing. Really felt good.

We won the Summer league by beating the second team 2 of 3.

The league had so much fun for 8 weeks, that many asked the house to continue the league. So, we took a vote and decided to go for anothe 4 weeks. I think this is an unprecidented move to extend league because we are having fun.

I think I screwed up my XTreme Damage by polishing it a week ago. It hasn't reacted right since. Gotta knock off the polish before lague tomorrow night.

Practiced with the new ball on a THS at my regular center. Felt real comfortable. My coach has gotten me on the right path as far as my timing is concerned, not quite where I want to be,...but very close.

I really like my new Motiv SR2, its very controlable, hits hard with lots of pin carry, and on the THS its lethal. I was in the pocket most shots, and over 200 everygame out of 6 but the first. Of course it helps when you are under control and in time, I have to stay on top of that...bowling is alot more fun that way. wink

223-182-178. Unfortunately we lost all four which knocked us out of the finals for the league. Oh well! Next week is sweeps, so hopefully I can do something!

Hey Whitepuffin, I believe that bowling with stronger bowlers over a period of time, can really only help you. I found that your game seems to lift, due to concentration, and mainly not wanting to appear foolish.. So I think continue with that league..

Are u having a good couple of weeks? Yes, and u know there is no reason for it to not continue....

Bowled alright this week Mon 617 and Wed 615 series, nice to have some oil.. Missed a couple of easy spares, stupid!!!

156-130-171, an average of 157 - my best series yet. If it wouldn't have been for 5 gutter balls, 4 of which came after a spare/strike, I could have easilly scored a 500.

I've been working on a smooth landing and a free arm swing. It seems to be paying off. I definitely need to work on my consistency though, considering my score last week off a 118-119-100 and my 5 gutter balls this week. I think extensive and continued repetition will fix the inconsistencies. The thing is, I have like 1,000 to concentrate on during my approach and just one lapse sends the ball in the gutter. I need to get to the point where I don't have to concentrate anymore - it's just natural.

I seem to be averaging in the low-to-mid-170s since coming back from my finger injury. It's an improvement of 12-13 pins for me. That's the good news.

Now the bad news. I have a new injury. crazy Bowling 4 games 2 nights ago in which I, too, was working on a smoother landing like what B-Hammer was asking about a short while ago, I pulled a hammy. begging Started to have trouble walking midway through game 3 and packed it in for the night. I probably won't hit the lanes again until Sunday at the earliest -- need more rest, plus Saturday will be taken up with a company party and then a wedding.

183-197-180 for a 560 series, my second best series for the league so far. Definitely been feeling more in the groove lately, averaging in the 180s for the past few weeks as opposed to the 150s since getting back into the game a couple months ago.

It's weird, in the 3rd game I had exactly zero strikes. I was missing the pocket the whole game. Fortunately I made all my spares, which helped with the confidence factor.

Heat will help. Spend some time in the hot tub or use a heating pad. And above all else, DO NOT rush it. Hammies have a tendency of recurrence, and if you go back before it heals you can make it much worse.
