Practiced with a few games Sunday on synthetic. 172,219,209,196 for a 796. Discovered a couple of things I have been doing wrong and corrected them somewhat.
Seems I have been bending my elbow slightly just before my release, causing my erratic shots. Locked my elbow on my downswing, only bending my elbow on my follow through AFTER the ball had left my hand. This created much more leverage, and accuracy,...something that has been missing of late.

Still need to work on this. Seems I will have a bit more practice time after June 30th....I'm retiring from my current job.

Had trouble the last game. I was having trouble with my thumb sticking. Kept messing with the tape in my ball and on my thumb, but couldn't seem to get it quite right. I lost all of the drive through the pocket. I left 2 5-7 splits, which I usually never leave, and more than my share of 10 pins.

Way to go. When I retired, I worked in a Bowling Center at the desk. Not much money, but bowling was free. It's $.25 per line now.

Bowled in adult/jr monday night had a 213 161 184 for a 558, still trying to get use to the Jigsaw corner. I couldn't carry 10 pins in the second game. Just wasn't my good game. Lat night I bowled in a sport league Its the 4th week first 3 weeks had the shark laid down and I'm glad thats gone! I shot a 171 195 175 167 for a 708. I'm not sure what the pattern was but, I will find out next week.

Its bitter sweet Dennis, I just Thank God I had the option. There are a lot of people I work with who are stuck and can't leave. Our new "contract" calls for an $800 A MONTH CUT IN SALARY!!! YIKES!
So my best option was to leave, draw on my pension ( Thank God for that too! )lock in my benefits untill Medicare kicks in...and do something else. I'm only 53, so I have a few good working years left. It was a dreadfull, anxiety filled winter,(I gained 20 lbs)..but the outcome turned out ok. Lemonade out of lemons you could say.... now I need to get to the gym and work on reducing the size of my shadow...lol.

I can't even begin to imagine the frustration with US workers over last year or two with economy and lack of job stability Tim...I can remember when my Dad years ago at 58 yr came home and told us that he lost his job.. As a father and family guy myself years later, I can't imagine truly how low he must have been.. I don't know about pensions and what not work in US, still u are young enough as u mentioned..

Hey Tim, try this. Just an idea... Do not eat after 7.30pm, reduce fat intake just a little, and do a little more exercise, and you will be right within 2 months, without a bug fuss or stress, or gym memberships.. Just my thoughts here..

Keep your head up mate.

Thanks looseleftie for the kind thoughts.

I am going to try your method of weight loss. I have seen a nutritionalist in the past and I lost 30 lbs. by doing the very things you suggest. It works well. I just took down my mountain bike and aired up the tires, and I plan on putting several miles on that thing soon.

Thanks Again

Went out last Tuesday and got three games in, one decent and two crap. 198, 127, 114. I'm so ridiculously busy this summer, it's not funny.

I hadn't bowled at this alley in about 9 months. It's usually where I go during the summer because they have the best prices, but compared to my home alley, I swear the pins sounded like they were made of soft rubber.
