Some great thoughts. Just recently I have come to the conclusion if I can't get the ball to work just right it is just how the pins fall. I then try make the spare. Coach is right it comes down to Execution, but those unmakeble spare sure stink thumbsdown

Execution for me as well, I dont sweat makeable spares if im executing if im not chances are the spares is going to missed anyway.

Actually I never sweat score, I want at least my average but again if I am not executing chances are I am not scoring.

WARNING! thread derailment...

Thursday, on consecutive first shots, I left ......

the 3-4-6-t
the 2-4-8-t
the 2-4-6-8 (!!)

I had never left the 2-4-6-8, to my memory. That's 2 flush on the nose and one way behind the headpin. Ya think a change was indicated?

If you take the emotion out of it, throwing what appears to be a good shot and not carrying and just plain throwing a bad shot are both puzzles to be solved.

There is usually a reason for both. Your goal as a bowler is to calmly figure it out and make the correction, preferably on the spot, but in some cases after reflecting on the sequence of events, and knowing what to do next time.

Bowlers that get so frustrated that they can't think straight, that punch walls or kick the ball return are only making it harder for themselves to bounce back.

I've left the 3-4-6, 3-4-6-7 as well as the 3-4-6-7-10, the 2-4-8-10 or 2-8-10 but never a 2-4-6-8, wow.
