My up and down night according to BowlSk. Tonight was just a weird night and I was actually dreading going to the center to bowl anyways. My work week was hectic and very labor intensive and I am still trying to recuperate from it. It was also one of the hottest nights of the year and very humid which is always a fun combination when bowling.

Warms ups went alright and even the first few frames of the first game. Then the bottom dropped out. After the first frame of the first game I was spareless until the first frame of the third game where I magically started making spares and almost kept the game clean. I just couldn't roll my line consistently or if I did my release would be different and the ball would either over hook on the better releases or under react on the more poorly execute releases. Many of my better shots left pins and some of my less than perfect shots carried. I averaged 5 strikes per a game, with 5 the first game, 6 the second and 4 the last, which happened to be my best game. The scores were 158, 161 and 190. We lost all 4 games. One more week of league and I still need to sign up for a summer league.

Late Friday night:-

I bowled pretty good in first and second game. I almost made 7-10 split in 10th frame at 2nd game. When the ball hits 7 and slide to the 10 but ringing 10. I was like "Wah what a close -_-" On 3rd game not much strike. Just a spare. Got split in 10th after threw weak.

The result were coming up and lost by 1 pin to other team for race 1st or 2nd on next week. My team got horrible break and next week to race 3rd place. Next week is the last league day for me then I will practice one a week before Vegas.

Watched our league championship and had our payouts last night.
Championship game had some young guns all pretty good bowlers (one being a buddy of mine) against a new team to league.
Game one won by the new team by 20 pins. My guys flat as can be with no talking at all( this is not how they were all year- loud and joking all the way). I go up to my buddy and tell him to get his head out of his "bleep" and start yapping. I'll take credit for the 2nd game as they came out blistering with 3 frames all strikes except the first ball by lead off bowlier for 11 x out of 12 (trust me they got loud the rest of the way)
Needless to say they put a whooping on them (buddy shot 265). 3rd game very close back and forth with both teams bowling well. Comes down to the last two balls in the match for the Championship which finally was won by my Buddies team by 2pins. What a nice match to watch!
Average anywhere from 214-196 depending on 10 pins

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Link to series on BowlSK)

This really wasn't the kind of finish I envisioned, because I failed to get my +1. However, I like ending the season on a positive note, and a 233 in the last game was enough of a positive to satisfy me.

I may not have met all of my goals for this season, but the least I usually hope for is to improve my average year-to-year, and a 186 ending average represents a three-pin improvement on last season in three more games than last season. I will say that another goal of mine was to avoid the really bad nights: the bad nights I wanted to avoid were those where I scored less than 500 for the night, and I only had one night in that category, and that fairly early in the season. I also had a first this season...this was the first year I had more than one game of 250 or over (the 267 just after Christmas and the recent 255).

I had the only good night among my team, and that led in part to my team getting swept on the last night. It should be said, however, that some of the members of the other team did well tonight, too, especially the other Eileen in the league (a neighbor of John and Eileen's who joined the league mid-season), who had a 190 first game.

2nd to last week - position round, and another one next week. We were in the basement by 2.5 points. Taking 2 games and series would put us up by half a point going into the last week. We won games 1 and 2, putting us up by 75. I had a 2teen and a 201. Last game, I couldn't come within a couple boards of my mark to save my life. Xs on lucky shots, and opens otherwise. We were not out of it in the 9th frame, and I told my self to just quit messing around and make a good shot. This is why you bowl. Well, I made my first good shot of the game, but I had moved so much to compensate for bad shots that I left a washout. Sent the 1 up around the 10. 10th frame, I needed to strike out to make their anchor double to win series. 3 of the best shots of the night later, their anchor left a single pin on his first ball, and we took 5. I guess I pulled a Dennis - 167, but I came through in the 10th!

Fianlly a night worth talking about. We won all four and I had my second highest post comeback series, a 622 (245, 212, 165). Ironically we only won the first 2 games by a little over 30 pins each. Then when I tank the last game we win by over 100 because my teammates explode.

With position round next week we have pretty much secured a spot in the Top 10 so all in all a decent season although we could not defend our summer league title.

Finally bowled average last night. The previous 2 weeks were garbage 620 sets. Decided to play straighter with my Black Widow Bite and shot a 725 for the night. Finished that league at 220 which is a record for me! I'm pumped.

Last week of season Bowlsk. After starting the Hy-Road and the reaction different than my during warm ups I changed to the Triton. It was a slow start filling frames while using the Hy-Road except the 7-10 which felt like the best shot I had thrown at that point. After the switch I had 5 of 7 strikes to finish the game with a 214.

Second game I lost the line on the right lane. The first shot that hooked hard I figured it was a bad shot as it didn't exactly follow the line I wanted it to. The next frame on that lane the ball followed the path I wanted but still went through the nose. I then moved in a couple boards and left back to back 10 pins on that lane, missing both and giving me 4 opens in that game including the tenth frame for a 156. The other two opens were multiple pin leaves that were in bunches but just poorly executed spare attempts.

Third game I went back to the Hy-Road figuring it could kick the 10 out better, but knew I would have to move a little deeper. Sure enough it did the trick. I ran off the front 6, with the last two being light from not getting the ball into the dry to read a little early. The seventh frame same thing even though the ball looked better and left a light 2 pin. I then decided to make a one board move out with both target and feet. The next two were flush strikes. First ball in the tenth I bent the thumb a tad at release and it missed inside a little and stayed in the oil, had less reaction but still carried. The eleventh shot looked and felt great and left the 4-7-9. I guess it was high flush and never rolled out, maybe too much angle too. I figured it would be an open to finish the game and went after the 4-7 throwing my Hy-Road straight at crossing the arrows close to the 6th arrow and picked it up. Great way to finish the league season off.

Total was 636. We won only the third game, and probably dropped from 44th to 45th or 46th, maybe even 47th. We couldn't end at 48th as we had a 4.5 points more than the last place team and we only have a 4 point system. Next week we go back for our payoffs.
