Very good NN! Now that you broke the ice, they’ll keep coming.

Went and did a little practicing of my own today. Was working on Slowinski’s 3-point targeting system, to try and improve my consistency. Also was working on some other release and timing issues.

For two games I was not scoring well at all, 159-164, but I think that was because I was thinking during the approach, trying different things. Last game I used the targeting system, but just “bowled” from the time I targeted through the delivery. Much better, 225 with no opens. Will be going back tomorrow to see if what I learned sticks.

Back again today. 168-161-238-217. The last two games I felt good with the targeting system, so I just concentrated on keeping my hand behind the ball (inside of the elbow facing the target) and not turning the wrist at all. I adjusted my index and pinky finger locations if I wanted more side rotation. It actually seemed to work great, much better target accuracy, and more consistent release.

I did 6 games of practice today. Not my greatest outing. I could focus on a mark, but midway through my approach, things got blurry, then they cleared up. I had trouble hitting anything. The last game was the best and the blurry kind of cleared up. I suspect lack of sleep and lack of caffeine;)

We had our pitch-in dinner and awards night this evening. Afterwards, my team didn't feel like participating in the Scotch Doubles and 9 pin games that were planned. We just wanted to get some practice in so we opted to get an open lane or lanes and bowl normally. Unfortunately, the center was busy enough that we couldn't get a pair so we settled for one lane.

Things went so so until the last game. 181, 175, 129. That was when some discourteous people moved in and my meltdown was officially on. One group was next to us and the other two lanes down from us. The group next to us rented shoes but didn't put them on and proceeded to bowl in their tennis shoes. Mind you we were DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DESK, yet no employee seemed to notice until we complained. Then the group two lanes down proceeded to whip two balls down the lane and into the pinsetter. You could easily have heard the resulting "bang" from the other end of the center, yet again, nothing was done until I brought this to the employee's attention.

As I've ranted before on here, these are common occurances on Fridays, Saturdays, and apparently now Sundays as well! I don't care how much money the open bowlers bring in, I'll never understand why this behavior is continually tolerated. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't even bowled tonight. I grew up bowling in this center. It is easily one of the nicest and largest centers in my area but I'm just about done with the place.

Badam, I know what you mean. I bowled the other day next to a couple of teenagers - they were goofing around so much on the approach I finally had to ask them to cool it. It's bad enough they were practically having [censored] on the lanes (wrong place for that!), but they were also using bumpers for crying out loud.

This kind of behavior would never be tolerated on a golf course.

New high game and series for me today. Shot a 196 then followed it up with a 227 and 245. The 245 was great, but knowing I would have cracked the 250 barrier if I had picked up that 10 pin in the 8th kinda irks me right now...

Nice bowling NN and LB75!

For me, friday night was a 3 open 741. My spare shooting has been a little bit out of control the last week because I just changed my footwork and it has changed all my alignments. I have mental lapses on ocassion and accidently line up in my old alignment as opposed to the new one. Causes me to miss everything to the right so I definitely have to pay more attention.

Games were 258-225-258 for a 741.
