Not bad for a 133 avg. beginner bowler. But not as good as I thought I would do, especially with all the momentum form last night. Hit my 1st 200 last night and follow with a 195. Tonight all of my beginning problems kept reemerging. 90% of the strikes I hit were Brooklyn. Kept missing easy sparees and releasing the ball stupidly. Overall I did OK with me being a beginner, but Im disappointed because I know I could have bowled better. Not to mention I missed all of of the money frames, the alley has a gambling thing called Brunswick bucks. You can bet up tp 5 dollars and all you have to do is spare or strike in 3rd, 6th, and 9th frames and you win money. Well out of 3 games, I couldnt do none of it.

Edit:
Not to mention I could get my ball to strike when it did hit the pocket. Just kept knocking down nines.

Just as a suggestion, I use to be in your shoes and your skill level, when I would place side bets during league I always seemed to do poor. I would watch other bowlers and their scores if it was brackets and I kept consitantly playing a scenario game with my scores trying to figure what I needed to do to advance and or win money. We all like to win a lil side money on league night but once I put side bets aside, worked on and improved my game and mental status I was able to return to side betting with confidence knowing I would just play my game and bowl and not worry about other peoples scores, where I am in brackets etc....

On my bowling note....Practiced a lil today went 203,182,221. Had a nice line games 1 and 3 which held up quite well with minimal movement. Had some spare issues with my 10 pin conversions for some reason and had a couple nasty spilts 2nd game. Guess I should have bowled a lil more this weekend instead of golf (shot 36 holes this weekend, LOL!) But I'll be ready for league Thursday. Got 3 weeks left and we are in second place only 7 games out of first!!!!!

Man, my practice sessions are getting stranger and stranger. Started with 157-158-146; at least two splits a game, left 2 or 3 opens a game in addition to the splits. I was just plain bad. Even got so frustrated I put my wrist brace back on for a bit - that didn't help, so it came off again.

After the third game I just decide I wasn't going to "try" anything and just bowl instead. 200-298-234 the next three games. Only missed one easy spare and one washout. How weird is that. In the 298 I hit the pocket on the last ball, but it was just a little light. Eight strikes the game after that.

Like I said - strange.

298 is still a great game wink

Today i bowled for the $1.75 bargin on mondays after nine!
i love that deal.
Anyways, the lanes on the right hand side were shot after one game, because a league bowls right before and they dont re-oil. so my last two scores where thrown with plastic after throwing balls with 2 steps from in front of the ball return (not easy) so i decided i would play a little straighter with my Plastic ball.

to the scores
189-218(plastic)-207(plastic)
i was getting alot of carry from my plastic ball.

658 tonight 254-230-174, again i should have done better, but the right lane completely dried out bad on the 3rd game for me and i was all the way against the ball return. What's bad is the 2nd game i opened in the 7th and 8th frames and still ended with a 230 haha.

Well, my string of 7 consecutive mid 600's came to an end last night. And, it didn't go up. Really felt good to start with a 224. Then, I started to struggle late in game 2, opening the 10th for a 194. That was really upsetting. As, I didn't know why I lost timing, my line and tempo all of a sudden. I made a ball change without success, leaving 3 big splits for opens. I was hitting my line target, but the ball wasn't anywhere I wanted it to be. I moved without success, and still couldn't hit.

Then, the proguy, who was standing behind us watching said, that I was drifting to the right. I was hitting my target, but with that angle, I was continuously high. That was in the ninth frame of game 3. I struck out in the 10th, once I corrected my approach line, for a 177.

There is just too much to be conscious of in this game. Someone behind you can see the problem easily, when you can't.

I practiced...yesterday and forgot to post;) They've started an all-you-can-bowl special for $6 for 2 hours at my house during the day. I think they want to see if they can stay open during the day throughout the summer....I hope so.

After the first frustrating hour of nothing on either lane. I got angry and ripped off my wristband and went back to my old outside stroke style. I didn't do fantastic, but I got a lot more feel on the ball than I'm used to. Even tossed a couple of 200's. I'll try again Wednesday...and this time I'm bringing 4 balls instead of 2. No matter what I've learned, I'm not an inside shooter. I have no power. I've lost most of my strength in the last few years.

Along with that, I've been intrigued watching a few guys on our league float a ball(hook monsters, not weak stuff) up the fried outside and make the ball skid for 40 feet and then use its energy on the back end. That's done with wrist(changing tilt) and speed and I couldn't do it with a standard wristband.....maybe now? <g>

Better swing, more accuracy, and more spares.

Bowled 8 games over 2 days. with my dimension i shot:

148,155, 166, 147, 148, 157, 119, 192

I thought it wasn't a bad effort, using a ball i am only just getting used to. dissapointed about the 119 but I managed to shoot a 154 average over 8 games which is pretty much my average, so i got a fair way to go, But fairly happy with how i am going

Disaster!. I had a gouge buffed out of my ball (Rogue) and shot last night with it. Now I'm getting a total different reaction.
171,169,205. Suggestions to get the ball back to Out of box finish.
Thanks ahead of time.
