Absolutely p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c tonight. Bowled in a local tournament. 172-162-174-185. Didn't even sniff my average. First time I've really gotten [censored] in over a month. I was just awful. I'm about ready to pack it in for awhile. I think I might need a break or something. I haven't bowled well since January, and I think I might just be trying to do too much, and not just BOWL.

Was going to do spring leagues, but I might bag it instead. Thinking I ought to let it rest until the fall.

wklstoy, you could pack it in, or you could see a coach. It may be something simple, as in one lesson to get you back on "your" track. I layed off for a while and I got worse. Everyone's different though;)

Heck, the cheap way would be to practice and do video and post it. These folks can see a lot of stuff:)

In league pre-bowling yesterday, not so wonderful. First game was 135.

But then my wife and I continued to open-bowl for practice. She had her first 200 game (203), and I finished off with a 223. Would've had a 250+--it would have been far and away my high game so far--if I had picked up 10-pin spares in the ninth and tenth frames.

Practice! Practice!

Thanks for the encouragement JackZ. I actually did find a coach about 25 miles from my home that I was planning on seeing next month. I was just so bummed last night, after yet another bad session. This seems to be a pattern of mine whenever I get back into something, golf, bowling, whatever. I start out slow, get better over the next few months until I'm actually feeling pretty good about my game, and just when I really get into it the bottom drops out and I just stink it up.

Wish I knew why that was, so I could break the pattern.

Great morning for me today. My first back to back 200 games and my first 5 bagger. Of course I then followed those up with a 119, but hey, I feel good about what I did today.

After the initial euphoria of taking a bronze medal at the provincials, my physical game has really been suffering. I've been having release, timing and footwork issues over the past 2 weeks. Being really wonky on spares didn't help either. After next week's no-tap tournament and the final stop of the BC YBT I think I'll take a sabbatical (to focus on exams, too) and see another coach.

Bowled 137-147-177 yesterday. Still having problems with that weak wrist. I'm seriously considering a wrist brace now. And my timing issues have magnified again, to the point of me having to take an extremely long power step which is making me lean forward and kill leverage.

Just found this thread! lol

Bowled my first 3 game series in 10 years on Friday with a brand new freshly drilled Columbia Total Bedlam 16#. Used a house 13# for spares lol. Rolled a 162-137-169.

Wasn't too happy about the 2nd game... Lost my line. I know I need to take a serious look at my release because I remember having a lot more revs than I saw on Friday. I love the ball... Now just have to practice more with it.

240-216-184 in league tonight. Lost my line during the second game, but my spare shooting was great all night. Only opens were splits. Had a bad back and a badly torn open middle finger, but it's the best I've bowled in league in the past month.

Some progress is better than none.

Interesting night. I decided in warm ups to use my Triple X Factor. Ball was really hooking, but i thought I would just play deeper. I seem to have found some revs lately. Speed and revs are starting to match up. First game was clean. Three bagger to carry my into the tenth. Strike, spare for a 234. My opponent finishes with a 250 something and I lose my point. Next game I hit the first 10 shots. Second shot of the tenth I leave a 10 pin of what felt like a good shot. Flat ten at that. I missed it for a 288. I won that point. Team won the game. Last game, I had trouble finding strikes. I didn't have a double all game. I left a split in the tenth that I missed. 185 and I ended up losing my match point. I had a 707 series, my opponent had a 650 series and won two of the match points.
