Hi everyone, I desperately need advice on how to get out of this. My timing is wrong, my release always send the ball down the gutter and my score is nose diving like a falling plane. crying
It happened because someone commented that I have a tendency to bring my down swing inwards, release my thumb and go round the ball. Many tried giving suggestions to correct this. One was to visualise sending ball out at point of release... seem effective but disaster struck..Timing is out... ball goes to gutter as often as 70% of shots and I'm losing balance and leverage. Now I'm totally devastated and have developed a phobia whenever I'm taking the stance. I dun wanna give up my love for this sport but I can't seem to get out of this mess.
Help...... brickwall

Mario,,,

As I often preach loud and long..... Go back and perform the one step drill, it can restore everything, bring you back to the essence of pendulum swing and release, correct timing, and renew your excitement of the sport.

There are very few bowlers out there that are good at coaching, they may be good at their game, but lack the ability to transfer knowledge, and have it return as performance.

I agree with Coach04 go back to one of the fundamental drills. There is nothing more annoying and dangerous to your game than listening to someone telling you what you do wrong. As a coach we are a schooled to tell people what they should do right. Giving negative comments without providing a solution is plain wrong. Find a coach / instructor that you trust and work with them.
