Yesterday, I found out the neither of my bowling shoes are meant for sliding. In this video, you will see me "jump" around a little bit. The bowling shoes may have something to do with it.

Feel free to criticize about anything.

Get proper footwear immediately before you do permanent damage to your knees and ankles.

The slide is one of the most important aspects of the approach, it relieves the stress on your hips, back, knees, shoulders and ankles. It allows you to drive your knees and hips lower into and under your shoulders to help project the ball down lane with less effort. Cutting your slide short in any way is a risk that is not beneficial in any way.

Get shoes with interchangeable soles and heels and a rubber non slide shoe to help you grip and propel you into the slide.

Your shoes are the reason you aren't getting under your shots properly. Watch how low palerma and belmonte are at the release and then look at your release position, you are straight legged and bent at the waist.

Any advice on which shoes to get?

I really can't spend too much money on shoes or anything.

There are many different ones to choose from Dexter, global and Etonic make the best ones I don't know how much you can afford, but there are many on line pro shops that will give you a good range of prices.

I'd go Global or Dexter. The Etonic's don't have interchangeable heels. The SST 5's 6's 7's or 8's would all suit you well. The higher end Global's would be great also. You could also give high end Linds a try. Quality bowling shoes can cost a pretty penny but they are worth the money spent.

Did you get inspiration for this music from Osku's montage from the Catalonia Open?

First thing I noticed Mark was your balance... You must be well balanced at foul line to be able to consistantly deliver ball well. As u mentioned your shoes may well be the main reason there..
Your speed and revs both look strong, so u have ticked two boxes already with this type of delivery.. You mentioned that u have only been bowling two handed since Feb 2009.. Looks like u are going well with it no doubt, so congrats on that.. You are only going to get better, and even quicker when u fix the balance at foul line up for sure!!!

Only other thing I noticed was your planting foot is very straight, guessing Mark you around 6' plus tall.. Just a suggestion, try getting a little more bend in your left knee, that may also help you in reducing the height of your backswing..This can also help several things, like balance, but also hitting your target through straighter shoulder allignment at release...

Just my take, I also have been two handed for a year and 4 months, my bowling has never looked back!!! So, happy that I gave this a go, having more fun on the lanes whilst I have worked hard at my game and ave constantly improving.

You could try those shoe sliders that fit over your shoe to see if they work. It's a cheap alternative, rather than buying a whole pair. You can also try those sliders that stick onto the bottom of the shoe, like the Master Slide Glide or the Master Tru-Slide Teflon Soles. Oddly enough, I recently purchased Dexter SS8's and actually use the Master Slide Glide on over the interchangeable sole. I like the way they slide. I used to have SST6's as well and use the Master Slide Glide over them as well. The only issue is if you don't like the way either the Master Slide Glide or Tru-Slide feel, if you take them off, you will probably getting the tackiness of the adhesive. What I could suggest is use those shoe sliders that fit over your shoe and then use either of the Master slide products. FYI, the Tru-Slide is allot slicker than the Slide Glide. You can use the Slide Glide immediately, but the Tru-Slide will require some wearing away time, by rubbing them against the carpet.

I'm 5'10". laugh

I'll try your suggestions. The last couples of days I have been trying to plant my left foot and keep it straight and it's been working.

When I get enough money, I'll buy some new shoes.

Thanks, everyone.
