725 last night, a personal best sanctioned series. I walked out of the Pro Shop with my new Mission, used it in warmups... Seemed a bit weak, but I found my line and decided I'd give it a few frames. I never even opened the ball compartments of my bag. I'll be doing a full review once I can use it with some of my other stuff as a comparison, and get some video. But, what really impressed me last night, was that when I got it in a couple boards, it pushed just enough, without going light. The manager kept commenting that he couldn't believe I was getting the 10 out. The other thing that really got me is that I was able to just keep chasing the shot in all night. I went from 11 at the arrows to 17, and I think I could have kept going to 6th arrow without changing balls if I was bowling another 4 games. http://www.bowlsk.com/games/view-series.html?series=481224

The full story. I had a 469 series with games of 202, 134 and 133. I knew tonight getting clean out of the ball would be key with the humidity. First game I had very little issue with that, the second game wasn't so well as I kept hitting light on the same line. I might have been a bit weak with the release as well. The third game I tried some different stuff, starting getting a clean release but had a hard time finding a line to the pocket. If I hit the pocket flush I was striking, but after the tenth frame of the first game there wasn't much of that. Right before the tenth frame of the first game the guy that runs the handicap bracket I get into, who was on the lane next to me, comes over and tells me I need to strike out to tie and move on. I also wanted to get up before the anchor of the other team to try to put some pressure on him since he had the advantage going into the frame since he was on a spare. I bury the first ball for a strike, he strikes right after. I bury the second one and he leaves a split and I hit the last one to give us the win by 5 and move on in the bracket. Second game he comes over and tells me a double in the tenth will move me on, can't get out of the ball clean and pull it for a split, but we win by 8. The last game I'm out of the bracket and the other team really gets going and takes that game plus total. Then as a cap on the night, I almost had someone hit my truck on the way home. Coming up to a traffic light where you have to turn left or right the car started to go into the right lane but then went completely in the left lane so I started to go past them in the right lane since I had to turn that way and the car started coming over. Luckily no contact was made since we both hit our brakes and I went as far to the right as I could without hitting the curb. How do you not see a baby blue 3/4 ton pickup right next to you?

after struggling for weeks, i may have had a break thru.
thursday night started with a 205, with one open.
followed that with a 184, with one open,
and capped the night with a 204, with one open.
only missed the pocket once all night, and the opens i had were splits. i also converted ALL of my single pin spares!
only down side, is one more spare, and i'd of had my second 600 of the year, 7 measly pins away, lol.

Surpassed my average in all 3 games, an extreme rarity for me.
166-173-183 = 522.
The team needed it from me tonight, too, since we were bowling the second-place team and they would have overtaken us for the lead if they'd swept us. Instead, we swept them. Phew.
On a side note, I'm still sick as a dog. Hacking cough, almost uncontrollable, won't go away. It was all I could do to not cough on anyone or anybody's gear, the ball return, etc. I had to miss this league last week bc I was in bed for nearly the entire weekend. Never left my door. This had better go all the way away before I go away on vacation this Saturday morning.

Congrats Mike. Maybe you should bowl sick more often.

Great series CG, We are considering that ball for Jordan so please keep us informed. We are thinking Mission or one of the cells. Anyway on to my bowling. Missed my 600 series by 1 pin, left 7-10 split in the tenth of last game and whiffed the seven pin or would have had it on the nose. Started with the Mutant but not much oil for 171, switched to the Fast for a 197 but opened 9th and 10th could not stay right of the head pin and I was way outside my comfort zone. Decided to go with tropical so I could end up with at least my average and ended up with my best game 231 and was still standing 25 looking 12. But my light bulb moment from last week carried over to this week so pretty sure I am on the right Track just kept it slow and smooth.

Congrats Mike. Maybe you should bowl sick more often. Great job yourself, especially right out of the chute w/that Mission. Sick more often? Maybe. Some of my best candlepin series came when I was sick. I didn't want to power the ball down the lane quite as much.

I have been struggling of late and started in the same manner. 9- X / 80. I was really down in the dumps. Then I changed balls. My teammate, a Silver Coach, yelled at me to move instead. I told him, I started at 18 and The last ball, I stood at 24. I was moving. I needed a ball that had less backend snap and a controllable arc.
So, I changed and salvaged a 202.
Started game 2 just like game 3, with 2 opens in the first 4 frames. This time, the teammate coach mentioned that I lost speed. I changed and ran the table for 224.
Third game, I couldn't strike on the left side, and struck every ball on the right side, including 3 in the tenth for a 215.
So, 641. I won 1 1/2 head to head points, and the rest of the team won 2 points. So, we took 3 1/2 of 30 points on the night.
