I wish I could do something about it....I left this team last year at the end of the year and joined another league at a different house on the same night....Well that team demoted me to sub because I had a sup par first 15 games of the season (their loss now forsure!!!!)

My other team from last year came calling in December because they were only bowling with 4 guys out of 5. I decided to rejoin the team. The guy in question is the team captain (I know...great!) and the other guys more or less don't care much because they only bowl because its too cold to golf in Michigan during the winter so I am screwed.

I don't know what to do come the summer and next fall. I don't know anyone who really bowls that isn't already with a good core group of guys on a team... Guess I am gonna be that guy who trys and jumps on a team as a single as summer and fall leagues form.

Go ahead Hooker, that's what I did this fall. It's not all bad. I got tired of captaining teams where 2 or 3 bowlers decided to leave mid season because of money issues. That's a pet peeve of mine. WHy start something you aren't going to finish?

Anywho, going solo doesn't really bother me. I usually land on decent teams with good people on them. I've gotten a little lip from my teammates trying to help me out. But I've already discussed that.

100% in agreement. Absolutely no excuse for any of that IMO.

bowling alleys are one of the only places people can still smoke here...no stoppage in play, people just smoke WHILE they bowl...and im not sure if thats any better than waiting for 15 minutes

i dont enjoy lane malfunctions
i dont enjoy when the 3 year old gets their ball stuck in the middle of the lane
i also dont enjoy perfect pocket hits that leave the 5 and 10

but i love bowling

Wow, didn't know any centers allowed that still. For several years before Maryland did the complete ban in public places two years ago, smokers had to go into specific rooms/areas so they could smoke. That's been since I started bowling in 2000.




If you leave either pin it's not a perfect pocket hit especially the 5 pin.

Smokers that bring their last toke into the center with them. It's bad enough that they stand at the front door.

I would have restarted bowling 10-12 years ago except for all the smokers in the alley. You couldn't breathe.

i wish they would get rid of smoking there, but it probably wont happen

I am from MD also, where do you bowl? I have a tues league in Timonium and a thur league in Bel Air.

Tough loss for the terps... but oh well, Lets Go Mountaineers!!!!

I bowl at Brunswick Perry Hall Lanes mostly right now. My lone league is on Saturday nights there. I've bowled in many of the centers around. I assume you bowl in AMF Timonium if you are bowling in Timonium and I haven't been there. I venture to guess that the Bel Air league would be at Forest Lanes, another center I haven't bowled at, but have driven by, and even sat in the parking lot for a few minutes. I actually live just a few minutes from AMF Country Club lanes.

As for the Terps game, I'm not a Terps fan, I don't like them at all. Then again I loathe Michigan St about the same amount. I'm a University of Michigan Wolverine fan.

Want to get together and practice at AMF Timonium? I'd gladly drive down from PA to meet up with people from this forum.
