The other night at league a fellow bowler/coach told me about a new release. The way he described it was like an exaggerated shaking hands type release, but instead of being done with your whole arm it is only done with your wrist. It is the opposite of breaking your wrist/cupping your wrist. I was told to "break" the wrist back in the direction of my pinkie finger until the release at which point I would break the wrist the other direction toward my thumb. It could not be done with a conventional wrist brace, but mine is adjustable that way so maybe I could just loosen it so it could move. Meanwhile, I would use my normal arm swing and follow-through. Has anyone ever heard of this? He said it was the new way to get more revs on the ball.

i have been trying to find someone else that does that type of release. one day i was trying to get more revs and that is what i found to work. i am still experimenting with it but my ball now gets amazing skid/snab backend.i love it.

Hello Bowling Fans. BowlerFreak, I do not think that this release is new. Dick Ritger taught this release long ago. It may be new to your fellow bowler/coach or to you but it has been around awhile. Coach Ritger described this as a way to put more power into your release.
