Gotta agree re: ball price. I priced the Storm Furious online, and it was only $105 with warranty versus about $165 from the Pro Shop. However, after you added in inserts and drilling ($50 in itself) the cost would have been about the same as buying through my Pro Shop, which included the drilling in the price.

Plus, it's nice to deal directly with someone I've known for 15 years.

Another ball I am really paying attention to is the new Ebonite Mission. I am yet to see someone throw it at my local house but I have heard many many people talk about how great the ball is.

Kelly Kulick used it to win at the TOC. Mika switched to it at one point in the same tourny, and that is saying a lot about the ball because he is not under the Columbia Umbrella so to throw one of their balls should tell you something.

Michael Fagan used it to win the following week as well. The ball just seems to roll so well for so many different styles.

I would check that one out too Rocket.

I have seen the Mission rolled by a couple of bowlers, and it looks good. I will probably pick one up.

Yes. Hence the 200+ price.

Have to agree that there are other options at that price point that will match up to a wider variety of conditions. Jigsaw Corner comes to mind if it has to be Hammer and high end.

Thanks all for the info, we will be buying from the Pro Shop, they do a great job and usually give us a good price break, more then likely since we buy there so much and send a lot of business their way.

So far looks like his arsenal is going to be close to mine, Fast,Furious, Cell or possible Mutant, Plastic instead of tropical for spares.

With his ball speed more then likely Cell instead of mutant cell,
Fast Will be drilled for more back end like his current fast. Furious probably a little more aggressive and then cell stacked. (Pro and Coaches advice) I do kind of worry about the stacked layout as he his hooking his Maxim we just picked up for him for his spare ball although it was at practice on used up lanes but it was moving quite a bit.

Thanks again after he read this helped me convince him it wasnt the right ball for the conditions he normally sees

My friend at the Pro Shop said he would consider buying the Invasion based on reviews and what he has seen, but he bought a Jigsaw a few months back and is absolutely in love with it. The dude can bowl and even with his skills he is impressed with the backend reaction. He has bowled three 750+ series with it in the past month. He was telling me this as I was deciding on the Invasion last week. Course, I like my Invasion so far... bottom line is that there several new balls that seem to be lighting it up. smile

Enjoy!

The thing about the the Jigsaw is it NEEDS oil. You can get away with using heavier oil balls on medium shots typically by playing inside. My center is a medium shot. The way every jigsaw rolls is like puke. I'd rather throw a rock down the lane than a Jigsaw. Yet on the other hand there's a center near me that absolutely floods the lanes. 42 foot house shot High viscosity oil. Now there the Jigsaw looks beastly. I just don't think Jordan bowls on lanes that would justify the purchase of a Jigsaw

There's a 20 something leftie on our league that uses a jigsaw. He bowled a 300 using it (he's still waiting for his ring).

Another guy I talked with last night picked the Pro Shop guys used jigsaw and he said you have to hit your mark with it. Any miss will cause a bad hit.
