I have seen in a number of places people saying.."take it to 4000 Abralon" or something similar. I know this is an amount of friction by I assume sanding. Can someone explain how this is done...by user or Pro Shop and procedure?

Put the ball on a spinner and sand it with a 4000 abralon pad. Generally you want to use a lower grit first to even out the surface. It seems that the preferred method has become to sand the ball thoroughly at 500 grit, then jump to the final finishing grit, using less pressure. Most people also wet sand.

I take it I need a ball spinner. Which makes the better product...Donkee or Innovative. Are they fairly equal as the cost is quite different....$199 vs $274?

Both are excellent quality. I'd go Innovative, but my opinion is biased. The owner of the company bowls in one of my leagues. Innovative's headquarters is right down the road from my house...;]

I've got 1/2hp Vertex Mold spinner which has been very reliable. I'd have no problems with the Innovative spinner, though if I were in the market for one today. You can't beat their pricing & it looks every bit as solid as the Vertex.

I have a Donkee, nothing wrong with it at all, works perfect and is well balanced. The innovatives do look better built though. But I opted for the cheaper alternative and it is doing the job just fine.

I also have a Donkee Spinner. I got it for Christmas and have had no problems in the two months I have used it. I have done about 10 total resurfaces on it and about 5 surface adjustments or touch-ups.

It is definitely a great spinner for the money. Its great because I even clean my equipment on the spinner. After bowling a set at league or practicing for maybe 6-7 games, I will spray down the balls at the alley and wipes them down with a clean towel. When I get home, I will throw it on the spinner, spray and wipes with a clean towel. Even though I cleaned the balls by hand, the spinner removes even more oil and debris.
