You should look around. There are many centers that have a night where the prices are low. I go to bowling alleys that are in Long Island. I have heard that at Van Wyck lanes I believe, on Thursday they have a dollar a game. Most centers have cheaper bowling on Sunday evenings. I find a lot of young people come into Garden City lanes after we finish with the league.

Yes, we have to pay the price of "luxury" in NY. Chelsea Piers, Bowlmor and Leisure Time in Manhattan are big time crooks! Maybe not, I guess real estate is just expensive.

There's Fiesta and Gun Post Lanes in the Bronx, but they're ok (Fiesta is still manual scoring). I've bowled at Jib and Whitestone in Queens (Whitestone is open like 7-11). Shell is by far the cheapest, as I've never been to Van Wyck.

I haven't found a great place in NY, so I've been going to NJ, at Hudson Lanes. $1.50 on Sunday mornings, I love it.

I remember Garden City. I bowled my once high game of 225 there in 2001. =) Nice alley.

It's a little late for this year, but if you join a Summer League at Larkfield Lanes in East Northport (Suffolk Co.), you can practice for a buck a game all Summer long, any day, any time.

It's a pretty good, but small house. Synthetic lanes put in a year ago.

Do you bowl at Larkfield Lanes? It is nice too see that it is still there and prospering. I used to bowl there in the 70's before moving to CA.

Yes, Larkfield Lanes in East Northport is still around and doing well. Automatic scorers were added about 5 years ago, and new synthetic lanes last Fall. Even have a decent Pro Shop now. Tom

I see from the ABC site that Carl Baurle is still bowling there. Is he still the manager there?

Never heard of Carl Baurle. It is run by a family named Cavanaugh for at least the last 5 years. Tom
