I want to get the Invasion and the Hyroad to add to my arsenal. I will use them for sport and league shots, but I don't know how to get them drilled. My other balls are drilled skid Flip, but I don't like it much. I want something more predictable, controllabe, and smooth arcing. For the Invasion, I was thinking about going with one of these layouts on their webiste. I want the layout next to the Frequently Asked Questions, that says "strong reaction, good for stroker and tweeners, and starts early with sweeping arc." What do you think? http://www.stormbowling.com/drill-specs/PSA_Lightning_Stikes.pdf For the Hy-road, I don't know how to get that one drilled. Any ideas?

Most of the Pro Shops like to see you roll a few. Then tell them what you want. My guy knows what I want and is right on every time, I have not been so lucky with my home house. They just measure you up and poke holes in the ball. Check around and ask who is a good driller or if you like your current guy, just tell him what you want changed. But be reminded the Invasion is a monster hooking ball and it looks like you got some great hooking balls all ready. I think the Hyroad would be the best addition. I also think the Reign of Fire or Reign would be my choice to replace the Hyroad I have. Balls ain't cheap soo choose wisely.. but thats just my opinion.

I understand where you are coming from about the Invasion. the way I have the Mutant Cell drilled, is for deep inside line, which I am not comfortable playing. So I just want another stonger ball, where I can play the middle part of the lane comfortably.

So you would recommend the Reign of Fire for my next ball choice? Any others from Storm/Roto Grip?

I would certainly think about it. If you go to the Storm/Roto Grip websites they have a ball selecter which you can plug in your speed, rev rate ect. they give you a recomendation and a couple others, its worth a look. With the newer core in the Thunder Line I would go with the newer technology. I was thinking of dropping to a 14# Hyroad and was told by a reliable source I might lose a lot of carry, so another thought to go Reign.

Lefty saw another post asking abouth Storm balls. It seems you are still liking the Hyroad and I wanted you to look at the options, get the Hyroad in a 15# it will fit in between the Vibe and your Roto Grip balls you will love it. The Invasion is up to you, I have seen it thrown by one of our best bowlers in our house and he has a bear of a time keeping it in the pocket. Good luck your picking the best.

I would go with the Hyroad. The Invasion will be much too close to the Mutant Cell. You will have major overlap. At least the Hyroad has a different cover. I would think the Hyroad would fit between you Mutant Cell and your Cell Pearl just fine. The Invasion is a lot of ball from what I've read. I don't think it will be a step down at all from the Mutant Cell. It will hook just as much.

I have a question. I have been to the driller only once, so I don't have experience.
What he did was:
Measure my hand and drilled the ball.
I started to tell him that I am a tweener and so on.
He said ye ye and some other words in german language and drilled it.
It is not that I don't like the results of the drilling.
But when you guys say :
Most of the Pro Shops like to see you roll a few.
Roll a few of what?
Your old ball?
What if you don't have one ?

Most ball drillers want to drill specifically for you based on what you want the ball to do, and from your PAP (positive axis point). rolling a ball or 2 will show oil rings on your ball, and they can find your PAP from the oil rings. From that point, they can layout what drill pattern you want specifically for you. There are options, you know.
