My league will probably start sending roster sheets around soon asking who wants to return for 2010 fall/winter season. All is good right, probably not.
I bowl in mixed doubles but it can also be the 3 and 1 setup too. Most teams are mixed.
I've gone now 7 years on the team and am ready to move on from one grouch on the team who sometimes can be hard to associate and bowl with. She almost would fit better with a adult senior league run everyday M-F at the center. About 72 bowlers are in my league and I would say 5 match or are close to her age.
2 other teammates feel the same way as me, want to move on. (staying on this league though)
How can this be done without stirring up a lot of problems? She will certainly be back for 2010-11 but a lot of the league won't have interest in bowling with her unless new arrivals will fill up 3 spots for her on a team. It's going to start up controversy but 3 of us want to move on.
Help if you have previous experience in a similar situation..

Be truthful! Tell her that the three of you really want to bowl with someone else. It doesn't have to be mean. If that doesnt' work tell her that there is a friend of yours that really wants to bowl with the three of you and you are going to do it.

Who is the team Captain? Technically according to USBC rules, at the end of every season the team is dismantled and the Captain keeps the franchise spot for the league and can bring in whoever they want to fill the rooster. I know this isn't how it usually happens in reality though. Your best bet is to approach the teammate in question and politely bring up the situation and discuss it.

I'm Team Captain. I've been the one to take care of issues that captains are called in about. (Rules, money payments every week, filling out the score sheet, etc)

What williams said is the best advice just be honest. We got saddled with a nightmare teammate several years back (a friend of a friend who moved here and wanted to bowl). Among his escapades were arguing and cussing at a lady on the team we were bowling who was just trying to fix the score on the machine, Losing his balance and ended up pushing a lady pretty hard while telling her in a rude tone "Hey, it is your turn", and coming out of the bathroom crying one night because he was bowling bad. Our one teammate offered to tell him and he just said "We do not want you to bowl next season it is just not working out". He had also missed about eight times for the dumbest reasons so that all played into it.

LOL i got a good laugh out of this one..... "Tell the truth!, and if that doesn't work, make something up" hahah
