I
DVD'ed the show, as I always do every week (except off-season events (Roll To Riches, Shootouts, King Of Bowling, etc.), and the CP3 Invitational will be
DVD'ed too.
I myself, instead of Bill Simmons, who merely mocked our great sport if not worse, would rather have the great Cindy Margolis herself do a telecast alongside Rob & Randy. At least she would be willing to learn more about our great game, especially after Kelly Kulick's title run at the TOC, which drew a larger female fanbase that week as well as the highest ratings in 5 years. Plus, all of Cindy's cyberbuddies could tune in just to see and hear her, and it would also draw more exposure for the PBA, but, the PBA really blew the opportunity to capitalize on Kelly's history-making TOC win, as the ratings for this weeks show were dismal.
As for PDW and his "incident" involving a member of the audience snapping a shot of Pete in his downswing, almost at the point of release... boy I have never seen him SO upset in any of the hundreds of shows I have seen in my 20+ years watching the PBA Tour on a hardcore fan level. I thought he was gonna go off on him. The only other two times I've seen guys get ticked over a
cameras or a noise at that point are WRW in 2003 where someone used a flash right in his downswing, and that caused him to leave the 4-6-7, and even when ESPN's own Randy Pedersen in the 2004-05 TOC at Mohegan Sun in that infamous incident where he lost his semi-final match to Norm Duke (by
one pin) as well as any chance of regaining his Tour Card.
But I don't think that Randy appreciated Bill Simmons bringing up the 1995 TPC title match in which Randy left the now-infamous stone-8 to lose to Ernie Schlegel by one pin, boy he must have been fuming at that time after he brought it up. Any announcer who is more respectful would never do that to a guy who wants to forget about that. It's just as bad (if not worse) as bringing up the gutterball in 1991 in Baltimore to Del Ballard Jr., who lost the title on that notorious shot.
