Definitely. Apparently
TV ratings here have been higher than ever. Apparently a lot of people are disappointed at Canada's results (the government has over the last few years invested huge amounts of money in training and supporting athletes, setting official medal goals rather than adopting the stereotypical "just do your best" attitude) but I believe we've still set a gold medal record.
Unfortunately life has to go on, which for me means schoolwork (and some bowling). I haven't had a chance to go downtown, but my parents have and apparently it's extremely crowded and hard to get around. Living about 20 miles from downtown in Surrey, things are okay, but public transportation is still EXTREMELY crowded and traffic is at times chaotic. It's still much better than in downtown, where half the roads are closed and hundreds of thousands of people are on the streets at any given time.
Everything is Olympic-themed. Canadian flags, banners, everywhere. I'll take some pictures of the bowling center at league tomorrow.
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of winter sports. I watch the summer Olympics much more intently (especially Beijing 2008 because of my Chinese background), and I'm a big fan of auto racing (especially F1 and some NASCAR and WRC) which isn't in the Olympics.
