The other bowlers are very good. Maybe that's why. I haven't heard of any injury. These things run in waves. They change the oil and a different set of bowlers do well. They can always tweak the pattern and the lefties will dominate. The only constant is the more difficult the pattern, the better all around bowlers will make the show. I'm sure he will be on again. Tommy Jones had his run that lasted a few years. Malott had a nice year. Maybe it's someone else's turn.

The last show he made was just before Christmas when he lost to Tom Smallwood, I believe. He bowled ok, it came down to the last frame. Last year he was so dominant, seemed like he was always on T.V.

I was watching Wes last night on XtraFrame when he was bowling Barnes and he looked really frustrated. He had a so-so look but missed a single pin spare and had the "just gave up vibe" after that...
He's a great bowler so I'm sure we'll end up seeing him on the upcoming shows.

Winning on tour is just a matter of having the right ball in your hand to carry more than the other guys. When you get to the level of a Mallot or Barnes you have to know your game and how your equipment matches up.
Tim Mack was commenting yesterday that Mallot looked like he didn't have the right ball in his hand, he was using a Virtual Energy and it seemed to be going a foot or two too long on him. Wes then moved inside a few boards and backed off on the speed, and the ball faced up to the pocket and carried a 4 bagger before losing his look again. When Wes lost his look he was still hitting the pocket, but he was leaving 10 pins and 2 pins.
Having the right ball in his hands would have meant carrying those off hits. Now what ball would have been the right one, that's the question. Tim Mack said that Mallot should have switched to his dull invasion to get an earlier hook that would have gave him some room at the mid lane.

I don't know about you, but when I'm bowling, I find it tough to switch balls. If you have a ball in your hand and it's been going so well for such a long time, it's hard to switch. Maybe Mallot fell into that trap. Like him, I prefer to check out the other ball in the 10th frame. I can then make an adjustment after a shot or two. He didn't have time to throw a frame or two away. He needed to strike right then and there in the middle of the game. I like Tim Mack, thought he needed a different ball.
I found the commentary about the person who is to the left ( for righties ), usually has the advantage. They usually mess up the other persons line. That's a nice bit of info.

The thing about bowling, is it isn't always about winning tournaments, it is about placing well consistently. That is one word that is the key to bowling, consistency. Remember that during the King of Bowling event, Wes did get his choice of pattern and only bowled one game each time. He'll win, but looking at the points, you can see the usual faces.
