Well - I am liking 3/16" Right lateral thumb pitch so much that I guess I need to try 5/16th right next! When will the madness stop?

Let your thumb be your guide. I suffered for years with 3/8 inch left lateral pitch (I am left handed) and a sore thumb, not daring to go beyond that because I thought that was already extreme. It turns out that I needed twice that, 3/4 inch left lateral pitch in order for my thumb to be happy.

Thanks Joe.
Hearing that you have 3/4" has allowed me to think out of my box. I like the feel of my thumb at release now. I am going to post a Video of my release today to see if it has improved at all. It seems when my fingers move left to right at release it is easier to clear my thumb with my current 3/16th then before. I think more right lateral might even be better still.

You will know if you have gone too far if the ball hangs up on your thumb, or if your thumb starts to get sore on the thumb nail side below the middle joint near the webbing between your thumb and index finger.
