I know its not much, but I have total confidence in my spare making ability moving forward. I was already a good spare shooter, but there has been times in the past where I've needed to make a 7 pin or a baby split to win a match here and there and have missed on a few occasions. I'm much more confident in my abilities to come threw in a pressure situation.

Also I've got much better at reading the lanes when in transition. In the past it might of took me 4 frames to make the right adjustment, I've cut that in half.

I have 2 "greatest accomplishments" in 2009, both coming in the first half of my current winter league: my 640 set w/ 28/30 clean, and (just the other night) my 267 game with the back 9. Would love to get my first 700 series in 2010.

11 in a row at the Southwest Tournament. Lost all my brackets to a 300 of course. Winning the head to head best ball at the same tournament against Rick Steelsmith. Bowler of the Year for my association for the 2008-2009 Season.

I think my high game for the year was a 279. I didn't bowl for the whole year so my accomplishments are limited. I didn't get a 700 series yet. My greatest accomplishment for the year is definitely coaching the kids I coach on Saturday. seeing this set of twins bowling in a tourny and knowing I couldn't help them and watching them bowl well almost brought tears to my eyes. They are very young. I was listening to some people gush over how the girl was bowling and how her ball hooked so much for someone so small. She hit her target time after time and made adjustments. She hit 100 for the first 4 games and it was her first time hitting 100 ever. And she did it 4 times in a ROW! I was so proud.

A high point for me in 2009 was bowling my first ever 800 series, an 815 which included a 300 game, back in March. Following it up with an 814 in December was a close second.

The low point for me was my overall tournament performance in 2009. It was a big letdown after a great 2008. But, I have learned a lot, so I am looking forward to a better 2010.

Discovering this forum has been great. Definitely one of the pluses for 2009.

I have a few, as I haven't been part of the bowling scene for very long.

The first is finishing in first place in scratch doubles for our county tournament run by the local association.

Second was shooting my first 300 game (second honor score).

Third was shooting my first 800 series (4th honor score).

And finally, the last is making the 7-10 split which I did last night for the first time ever. Still lost the game but it was kind of cool anyways smile .

Congrats on the 7-10 split.
I wonder how many other bowlers on the forum have done this.
You had some big accomplishments last year. Hopefully this year is even better.

I have three I can think of off the top of the noggin....

#1) March of 2009. Picked up the 7-10 split while playing Saturday Night Color Pins. First time ever doing this, picked up $75 for doing it during the Color Pin.

#2) December of 2009. Getting my 2nd ever 300.

#3) First half of Fall 2009 Season... completing the calendar year on one full league and one sub league with a 219 average in each. First leagues ever where I have a 215 average or over.
Still need to finish the season of course, but happy to see where it is at to date.

Cheers.

Last year? Not pretty. No high scores worth posting from 15-16. But good times ahead. smile

My year started pretty bad, a continuation of last year which was very mediocre. But around November, after some sessions with my coach and alot of practice...I am starting to get that "feel" back. You know that feeling when your timing is good, and the ball comes off your hand smoothly, the ball reacts as you expect it to and you just know you have thrown a quality shot.

That alone has been my biggest accomplishment, getting my timing back, Because now I have become pretty consistant..and my average has climbed from an early season low of low 170's, to 190, closer to my goal of averaging 200. I have confidence again.
