Excellent job, who's! I'd love to be able to groove shots consistently enough to do that someday.

Rolled my best sanctioned game to date tonight, and even w/that, I still didn't hit my average.

200-118-137 = 455

My spare shooting, which is normally much more reliable than my strike ball, was completely wackadoo tonight. I couldn't find my way to single pins w/a compass. Only made 5 of 12. worried

As my night was notable enough to post to my BowlSpace blog, my readers are hereby directed to this link. The post includes a standings update, as well. (I have 2 links in the post, so look for the yellow text.)

As a follow-up note to last week, I asked Warren about his second game, and he did confirm that I missed a spare in the third frame of that game.

Last week, I bowled a 212-205-170=587. I was using my Monster Smash'r. I know it's old. My carry percentage was very good. I only needed to hit the pocket. If I missed, it was usually light and I left a designer split. I only left 2 ten pins all night and made them both. They were both ringing ten pins, I don't mind ringing ten pins, I hate flat tens. Don't really like to leave anything to tell u the truth. I hit the pocket 24 times and had 19 strikes. Last game I changed to my X Factor too late.

This week I had a 224-224-232=680. I seriously thought about picking off two pins on my final shot to get the triplicate. But I thought that was wrong. I did think about it though. I was far more accurate this time around. I hit the pocket 31 times. I had 25 strikes. I missed two ten pins. I had two splits. Obviously i was very consistent this time around. I was hitting my target on every shot. I think I only missed it three times, resulting in two splits and a 3-6-10 leave. Two ringing tens and 3 flat tens. my goal is to eliminate the splits and missed spares. I missed 4 spares total.
I used my Monster Smash'r all three games.

There is just something about bowling against a bowler that has rolled a 900 series on the pair he rolled it on that makes you think you are in for a long night. That happened tonight to my team. Said bowler started out with a 299 the first game, leaving a solid 9 pin, which I saw coming when it spun down a little late the previous shot. He followed that up with a 279, that was a solid 4 pin that he tripped out multiple times the rest of the game while trying to hit flush which he finally did on the fill ball. The last game he rolls what I can only assume is a 269 leaving a 10 the first frame and a few frames later a 2 pin for a 847 set even though I thought it was a different total. I know he only had 4 non-strikes all night and those were all 9 counts.

As for my night, the complete break down is on my Bowlsk Profile. I broke my normal sub-par or average first game, great second game and so-so third game pattern. I started out with an 8 strike 198, missing 3 makeable spares, and not striking on the fill shot. Second game went down hill which. I only had 4 strikes, 2 spares and a gutter ball for a 150. Third game was an average type game, even though it started out with 3 of 4 strikes and then became a roller coaster. I missed a 9 pin, threw another gutter ball when I banged it off my ankle which made me tentative the next few frames. I left a 1-3-8-10 washout the next frame and managed to convert it, I followed that up with a 4-9 split on a shot that felt pretty good and made it as well. I only had 2 opens this game, but only 4 strikes for a 182 and a 530 set, which was less than either of the last two bowlers' on the other team first two game totals.

That's a pretty tall order. It's extremely difficult to pick out only 2 pins from a full rack on purpose.

What would you go for? I'd try the 6-9. Or, shoot at the 10 and hope it bounces into something.

That's why a 292 is the hardest and rarest score in bowling.

I've never chopped the 4-8 (lefty version) off a full rack before. The only 2-counts I've ever done were taking out the 4-7, by hitting straight on the 4 pin so it, and the ball, goes past the 8. Another way is to hit extremely light on the 4-pin so it'll slide in front of the 8 but you run the risk of taking out the 9 or 10.

Did not bowl so great this week:
Wed - 214, 233, 227, for a 674 series
Sat - 215, 194, 223, for a 632 series

But, my teammates have been bowling fantastic. On Wed we won 5 out of 7, and Sat we won 7 out of 7 points. As luck would have it, on Sat all of the teams above us lost all of their points, so we moved from 5th to 3rd place, and are now only 4 points out of 1st. Wahoo!
