Solid week: 236-249-200---685 on Monday. The right lane fried in the midlane early in game 3 making it difficult to put together a string. Only one open: a low pocket 7-10 in the 10th frame of game 1. The Black Diamond was solid into the third game. Had to switch to the Xtreme Damage to get through the midlane in the 3rd game. Left three 4-pins and three 7-pins. No 10-pins for a change. Our lefty had a tough night as the left side was tight with no one to help him break it down. Also, he left a low pocket 7-10 and several ring 7s.
Wednesday in the tougher carry house: 215-220-200---635 with the Black Diamond all night. Two ring 10s, a 4 pin and solid 7. Missed a 10-pin and cherried a 3-6-10. Picked up a 5-7 and 3-9-10. We won 7 and moved into 1st place for the second quarter. Playing with house money as we already won the first quarter.
Hang in there Who's. There are nights that one just doesn't match up. I'll bet you have your share where you're the windshield and your opponents and teammates feel like the bug wink

A better night on Thursday, not great but better. I am still missing some easy spares, no excuses just stupid shots and bad Execution. I shot a 213,188,215 for a 616. It could have been much better had I not missed a 10 pin in game one, two splits in the second game, and a 10 pin and two 6 pins in game three. Those single pin spares are a killer, and really get under my skin. I had seven strikes in a row,..then I toss back to back 6 pin misses. frown

We did take two games and totals from the team directly in front of us, we should move up to third place.

Thanks Jbungard, you'd be right if we were about my Monday league, but I've been struggling all season on Thursday night.

By the way nice arsenal!

Hi All,

Been awhile since I have reported because I have just kind of been in a holding pattern for about 3 weeks averaging in the low 170's which is about 10 under my average. So I have Thanksgiving off and then we have to pre-bowl on Tuesday and I proceed to shoot my highest post comeback series and the first time all my games topped 200. What was really ironic is 2 lanes down there was 4 couples with a boatload of kids that were running all around, laughing, screaming at times and none of it affected me.

I shot a 627 (202, 212, 213) and it really could have even been better if I hadn't missed about 4 one pin spares (The 10-pin got me twice). Maybe the week off did me some good!!!

Well I still have about 21 hours before league and it's looking like I won't be able to bowl. Work this week has aggravated an injury from 17 years ago when I was in middle school. I dislocated my right thumb in a pick up football game. For the past couple days that joint and down to the wrist has been hurting under the smallest amount of strain. While I was able to hold my bowling ball a few hours ago, I just don't think it could hold up to the repeated motion of bowling a whole series. I guess I'll know for sure tomorrow. If I can't go this will be the first league session in at least 3 seasons that I will have missed a league night and hadn't pre-bowled for it. I think it was only twice in the previous three seasons.

I've been in a rut on Weds and about "normal" on Fridays. Not one single 700 series in either house which is rough for me. The 2 houses play completely different as I'm 13 pins higher om Fridays. Weds was 165-176-233= 574. Tonight? 257-300-202. That is 300 number six over all and 3rd in league. I blew a chance at 800, the last game I fell apart late. This was divisional position round so I was disappointed with our finish (and mine). It has been a year and 2 months since my last one it feels great to feel the pressure, nerves and excitement of 300 again. It feels like a ton of bricks are off of me, now I need to get Weds going again.

Still using my X Factor.
On Wednesday I started out slowly as usual. This time I should blame it on missing half of practice, but I won't. I wasn't really comfortable for the first game though. I started out pretty good. Then I missed slightly and went through the beak for a big four. Stayed clean until the tenth and did it again. Those were my only two opens for the rest of the night. I adjusted and made myself comfortable. Re-focused. I left a 9 pin, two ringing 10 pins and 2 flat 10 pins the second game. The last game I left a flat 10, a ringing 10, a 6-10 and two 4 pins. My three game set was 173-217-223=613 series.

Out of all of my bowling balls, I have found that my X Factor and my Deuce still have the best carry for me. amazing huh?

Smooth, you are about the only one I know still using your X-Factor. Glad it's still holding up. I got a 15# one 2 Summers ago as an experiment to drop a pound in weight. It just didn't work for me. I was going to get rid of the ball, and General Pounder suggested I send it to you. Would have done it if my Son didn't want it.

He had it redrilled and uses it today.

Well I was able to bowl tonight despite the pain. It moved away from the thumb and wrist joint area, up more around tendons a little above the wrist which was really swollen up yesterday, almost twice it's normal size. I was hoping to borrow a wrist brace from a friend/teammate but he was late getting there since he was working and didn't have his bag. He had to use house shoes and bowling balls he had in a locker. Remarkably enough bowling didn't bother it, unless of course I hung up in the ball from either rotating early, over rotating or gripping the ball which luckily I didn't do much of any of that but unfortunately I did a few times.

This is the detailed recap for tonight. The first game was a 143, second game a 180 which is my average and the third game was a 204 for a 527 series which was only good enough for third best on my team. I had issues finding a line I could get my Hy-Road to work so started with the Triton, even moving in some since I had to be easy with my release and swing. I had slower ball speed but very little wrist action. Of course what I did do gave me a smoother release, something I've been trying to do for a while and get a decent reaction out of. On top of some terrible strike ball Execution, I had some terrible spare ball Execution. I found myself mimicking the anchor from the other team. At least that is how is seemed. He has a nice solid physical game though. He's an accomplished bowler, runs a Pro Shop at another center and so on. We only took one game again.
