Picked up my Xtreme Damage from Impact Pro Shop in Sun City, AZ. Patrick Knight punched this one out for me using a Vise thumb mold and inserts. The Pin is above the ring finger with the CG kicked right. 15 lbs, 1 oz, 3 1/2" pin. The color is listed as Ruby/Orange. S/N 689 (still on the shelf) is this color. My ball, S/N 688 is closer to caramel. It reminds me of an early-70's Columbia White Dot caramel. Started out with 4 in a row, then a solid 10-pin miss, two more strikes, a 2-4-5, then off the sheet for a 244. Second game: Started with the first eight in a row, then a solid-10 miss, two more strikes and a 4-pin for 266. Third game: Two light 7-pin spares, three strikes, solid-10 miss, strike, then 3-4-6-10 split, followed by a low pocket 7-10 split, followed by a 2-4-5-8 bucket spare, then a fill ball strike for a disappointing 181---691 series.

First impressions: The Xtreme Damage gets good length, retains energy well through the heads and midlane, then makes a strong, controlled turn. Similar reaction to my polished Black Diamond. My Xtreme carried slightly off-pocket hits well and carried a few hits that I thought would leave 10 pins. The left lane had a three pin off spot back and left a little all night, which caused everyone on the pair to leave ring-10s unless you hit high flush. I had a couple of messenger 10s that carried. My late third game struggles were more about me trying to stay too long on the 13 to 6 line without jumping across the track. It is promising that I was able to play this line for two and a half games without moving on a 5-man team league with nine righties on our pair. My current bag consists of a Black Diamond, then Xtreme Damage, then Buzz Attack, then Black Pearl Reactive. My tournament bag adds a pin-down Conquerer and either a Buzz or Hornet for the late burn. My Xtreme Damage fits nicely between my Black Diamond (solid medium-load particle, high differential RG) and Buzz Attack (Reactive Pearl with Mica soft particles, medium differential RG). The XD is a light load particle pearl with a high differential RG.

Tonight's bowling, frame-by-frame (Link to BowlSK)

As I said in my BowlSK comment about tonight, this was as consistent a set as I've ever had in a league setting. While I didn't have quite the run of clean frames I did in open play on my birthday last year (28), I had just as many clean frames tonight as I did that night (still 28 out of 30) and was clean all the way through after the 6th frame of the first game, with the opens in the first game both coming on splits. All in all, a night to remember. laugh

My team definitely needed me tonight, as two other members of last season's champions returned to the league tonight and were added to the opposing team, so I knew I had to come up big against their anchor. After losing a close first game, it was a team effort to get the other three points (including total), as everyone had at least one game over average.

Nice job Richie - you made some tougher multi-pin spares too to stay clean. No missed makeables is always good.

Not a great night, but not as bad as I had been bowling lately.
Started out with a 196, followed by a 186 and a 212 for a 594.
I left opens in the 9th frame of the 1st and 2cnd games or scores could have been better. One was a split, and one I just flat out missed a 6-10, throwing the ball right in the ditch... I obviously still have work to do.

As a team we took all 7 points and are steadily moving up the ladder.

well, i relaxed a bit monday night, and did better. first game was a ton of splits, but then found a line and had a good second game. 3rd was around average, overall, i was happy.

missing league tonight, as i am about to walk out the door to go see Gregg Allman in concert. hate to miss a night of bowling, but this is as good an excuse as any i reckon!

Gregg Allman, good stuff,.. hope he put on a great show.

Thursday night league,.. I have been struggling in this league for most of the year so far.
Start out the first game with a split,..followed by another. Great,..its going to be one of those nights. All in all I had 5 splits the first game and I missed a makeable spare to boot finishing with a 131. Very nice! My Bite was just over reacting and I could not get it to the pocket consistantly. We lose the first game by over 100 pins.

Second game I switch balls. I go to my LM Sting and instantly start stringing strikes together. I had 13 in a row between the last two games at one point, missing one spare in game two (chopped a 10 pin out of a 6-10 leave ) and staying clean in the last game. End results,..131, 238, 240 for a 609, and we overcame the first game beatdown taking the last two games and totals. It felt great to actually contribute for once. My LM Sting was very impressive, hitting extremely hard clearing the deck on almost every strike. It was alot of fun,,,seems like the evening ends quickly when you bowl well. laugh

The Allman Brothers was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Warren Haynes was with them, it was just fantastic.

Lanes were very screwy last night - flooded out to about 5, 4 was good, 3 was a desert. I finally figured something out in game 3 to save my average with a 263.

Went 229-180-202 for a 611 set.

Game one, my hi game, we lose
Game two, my low game we win. I also tie one person in my only bracket to advance.
Game three, their 3rd bowler in the fill shot drop it in the gutter and their anchor leaves a 3-7-9 split and gets one. I have a strike in the 9th. If I strike out I shut 214 (beating my tied opponent in brackets by 1 pin) and we win the game by 2 or 3 pins. Strike first in 10th and leave a 4 pin on the second ball. The sad thing is that the ball did not look like it was a high hit.

Tim, that just goes to show you that some times its not your game that is lowering your scores, but the ball you are throwing. Keep that in mind next time your Sting is diving, switch earlier and you will have a really solid set! Great comeback to still shoot 600 with that first game, now next time you can get the adjustment in quicker and hopefully salvage the first one as well, maybe get 180 out of it next time smile .
