I rolled a 183, 193, 201 for a 576 series. I tried my old Saphire Zone and I couldn't keep it off the nose. Shot a lot of 6-10's (lefty). Made all but one;)I switched to the Pearl hammer and it was much more controllable. I actually should have shot higher as there was a shot there, but I was kind of whooped.

Makeups on Sunday (for Christmas) I'll do better. I'm not disappointed. My first 2 weeks were 400's, but I had a chest infection. Now I've got a cold and I'm shooting 570's? I'd like to see what I shoot healthy;)

Played a couple of fun games with the wife and kids today... threw 245 258. Hopefully a bit of that will stick for tonights subbing and my two leagues tomorrow.
Leaving soon... cheers to the members of the board!

175-150-156 last night = 481. Still made some progress in going Brooklyn less often, which may have had something to do w/my being almost utterly unable to buy a strike. smile Still learning something new every time I go out for practice...good thing, too -- season for my short league starts in a couple of weeks.

League makeup today. 187, 175, 185. The first 2 were with the Saphire Zone and I almost found something by looking way down the lane, although it still came up high a lot. I'll try it some more. The 3rd game was the Pearl Hammer Urethane. It stopped moving well after a few shots and toward the end I left a 5-6 and a 5. I have my first lesson with a coach tomorrow. We'll see what she says:)

I forgot to record my first three games, but they were all below 160. brickwall livid mad
Game 4: 180
Game 5: 166
Game 6: 188
Game 7: 186
Game 8: 142 (Things went downhill from here)
Game 9: 139 (I got a big blister on my thumb! Covered it with some bowling tape and moved on)
Game 10: Once again, I forgot to record my score.

Left a 4-5-10. That was unusual, so I pointed it out to the local pro, who was passing by. He said it was makeable.

Only after I missed it did I realize that I should have thrown exactly as I did for the 5-10 split I'd picked up a few games before....
oh well.

The question, of course, is what knocked the 8 pin down....

Threw a 192 with my helicopter today. Getting closer to that dream of a 600-series with it.

Don't keep track of score when practicing. It's something that took me a long time to learn, but it definitely takes away a mental variable.

Not too unusual. I've seen it a couple of times, resulting from really flat hits, but have never left it myself. I've left plenty of 5-6-10's, though, and have taken out the 5-6 many times but just can't get the 10.

yeah, flat. Throwing limp-wristed since I'm still recovering from last week's annual 24-game bowlathon.

Only bowled 12 on Sunday.
Actually, my best game was a limp-wristed straight shot with maybe 4-6 boards of hook....

I'd love a bowlathon. We had one here, a couple of weeks ago. It actually was over night. I don't mind bowling 15-20 games. I just couldn't see starting it at 11 pm.
The entrance fee included breakfast at 5 am for the early out guys.

Well my pattern of bowling well in Sunday practice continued this week. Only bowled 4 games, but all were well over 200, and I left just 4 opens. I also saw my coach on Saturday, and she tweaked my release,..getting me to stay behind the ball longer. She also thinks that I may have been fighting ball reaction with a dead ball(Hammer Bite), contributing to my problems. She threw the Bite in the rejuvinator while I had my lesson, and it worked pretty well yesterday.

I feel real comfortable again,..well at least I did yesterday. Had alot of fun. Now carrying it over into league is what I need to do. I will find out how well I do that soon enough...Wed.
