If he's on a string of strikes or has a nasty split to pick up, I'll leave my ball in the rack and even look the other way or turn the other way so that he doesn't have that thought in the back of his mind "is that guy going to get up and ruin my shot?".

However, I can get my shot off in the time it takes for his ball to return, so I never bother the two bowlers beside me (2 lanes away).

Now, if there's a bowler on either lane beside me (1 lane away), I expend a little more effort to ensure that I stay out of his view while he's bowling.

I am so focused up there, a bomb could be going off and it doesn't phase me. My wife on the other hand can't stand it, it's like her peripheral vision is alot better than mine. I guess everyone is different.

I normally bowl on synthetics. This other house I bowl on is wood and very oily. I have had two 600's there the last two weeks. None last year. Last night I bowled 170 (5 splits) and finished strong. 236, 224 for a 630. It's all in the release and speed....Imagine that!

Well last night, was a weird night. My scores were as follows, 171-212-129=512 series. A while back when I first started bowling, I was told when I have a rough night, work on one thing and go from there. So I did. Strangely enough I got the desired result out of that work in the 3rd game.

At the start of the night and throughout the day it wasn't typical San Diego weather. It was a tick chillier than usual. So the weather definately was messing with my thumb and I had to adjust the thumb in my Hy-Road with tape and that took some getting used to.

Then by the third game I got situated and was finally able to repeat a free swing over and over again. That's the good news. Bad news is that I have to work on my spare shooting with a free swing. It seems the increase speed and revs are something I'm going to have to work on taming for spares, the speed especially. And stop drifting 4-5 boards on the approach.

Be like water making its way through cracks. Don't be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

I'm still up so it's still Friday to me. My scores were 225, 197, and 149. First 200 I've had this year and highest series.

I stayed with the Red Pearl Hammer for all 3 games. I Stood 20 to 22 and shot just outside of 10. If I hit 10 the ball left 5's or 9's (lefty). By the time I figured I could move back to 20 and shoot at 8 with loft and more speed, I had nothing left;)

Stamina...yeah. Gotta work on that:)

Cool little bowling weekend up ahead.
My wife and I are subbing tonight for our friend. Always cool to sub in that league.

Sunday afternoon, we are bowling against our favorite bowling friend's team. They are in first place, we are in sixth... so to do well will help the longterm season cause.

Then Sunday night, we bowl against one of the co-second place teams. We are in first place, 9 games ahead of the two teams after 10 weeks of bowling.
We have been on a tear lately, but we have to keep onguard for a letdown. Long season, but it would be good not to letdown now and keep our cushion.

Hopefully I can hold up my end of the deal. smile
Storm Sync, NVD & a worn-out Widow for spares.

Career HG: 300 (3)
Career HS: 772
Career High Avg(09-10) 217.
15-16 Avg: 189

Last year? Not pretty. No high scores worth posting from 15-16. But good times ahead. smile

I only had was "ten in the pit" flush hit last night. The next shot on that lane I tugged by a board, caught too much oil, and left a 7-10;)

Any strikes I caught were 4 pin stands in the channel and falls against the 7 (lefty) and something came out of the pit and took out the 10 once.

I did get a lot of hits where the 4 pin rattled in the channel....skinny part toward me, and left the 7. Weird.

Had youth league today. Couldn't seem to break 200. Shot 158, 193, 193. Shot right around my average so I guess its alright. I just need to eliminate those bad games.

Bowled a 6-game scratch tournament today. Rolled games of 211, 164, 223, 264, 248, 279, for a 1389 series, or 231.5 average. Snuck into the finals in 5th place, won one game with a 252, then lost the second game with a 160. Ouch! But, it's all good, since the winner was one of my teammates in my PBA Experience league. He went on to win the tournament, his first ever scratch tournament, and we had a great celebration afterward.
