Had a pretty good week considering I caught the flu on Monday. 175-152-171 for a 498 series. I was hoping to break 500 for the first time this season but a 6-count on the fill ball in the 10th of the third game ruined that. Spare shooting was only ok. Made a tough 5-7 split (off a bad break where I hit flush in the pocket, a bit flat, and the 5 wobbled and wobbled and just wouldn't fall) and a 1-3-7 washout (just barely- almost wrapped it but the headpin just grazed the 7) but missed 2 single-pin spares (a 6 where I threw my spare shot too aggressively, and a 7 when I lost my balance at the line and missed by 20 boards) but otherwise it was a pretty solid 3 games.

First tournament in the BC Youth Bowling Tour coming up next week. And the 6th annual city tournament in 3 more weeks. Looking forward to that.

220, 236, 243 for a 699 series. First game, I went 9 spare, strike for 8 frames, all 7-pin leaves on the left lane. I was making small adjustments the whole time, but the 7 pin was stubborn. In the 9th frame, I thought should I to try to shoot a Dutch 200 or strike? I figured we might need the pins, so the Dutch 200 will have to wait till another day. My teammates bowled great, and we won 7 out of 7 points. I found out this morning, so did the two teams ahead of us. Oh well, at least we didn't lose any ground.

Well, finished a heavy week of leagues and subbing. Five nights in total. I thank lmfcoa for taking a video of my early arm rotation, my Coach for helping, and the Pro who stood behind me, watching and giving me pointers.

Totals for the week were, 636-623-616-620-686. That's a huge improvement over the past 2 weeks with my problem. I will practice again this morning and hopefully get rid of my problem.

But, 211 average for the week over 5 times is OK by me.

Nice bowling, Dennis. That's a lot of bowling for one week.

Thankx Joe. After struggling for a couple of weeks, I think things are starting to come around. I thank lmfcoa and his video camera to show me what had been going wrong.

Bowled 6 games this morning, focusing on my first ball. I noticed when I left a 10 pin and when the ball was right, right off my hand. I have a hand flick on the end that carries the ball behind the head. Without it, strike. Focused on balance at the line, keeping my arm straight and a clean release

Stats for the day:
Strike average - exactly 8 per game
Strikes were 48 of 66 first balls
The BRB was great from the outside up 7
The Black Diamond was the best, standing at 25, over 13 and out to 5
The VG got some over/under late, but still carried well at 23, over 12 to 6. Any wider came in flat and late.

Had the scorer off, but the stats calculated a 209.6 average for 6 games. This was meaningless cause I loaded 1 game on 23 and another on 24, but alternated lanes. I did have a couple of 8 strike strings. But they only registered 4 in each game.

started off good tonight, 252 with a open. Than had a 172 and a 174. Left way too many solid 7 pins....Damm. Really sucks to have a 250 and not get a 6. I had to strike in the last ball just to tie, wouldn't you know, I tapped the 7 for the tie. I hadn't tapped the 7 all night....

Excellent bowling Dennis. It's good for the moral to get some good sets down the lanes.

I was doing OK so far this season until I went out to bowl a tournament this weekend. I'm too ashamed to poste the scores (in fact they were more in the "unrememerable" (is that even a word?) category than the "unforgettable"!) Suffice it to say that I had THE biggest mental block that I've ever had. I really put too much pressure on myself and I don't really know what to do to get over this problem. At least I have one month to try and beat this before my next tourney. This has to happen just when I was getting reasonably satisfied with my bowling!

We need to figure out how to fix me now Dennis LOL

i know its nothing compared to some of you, but being a 150 avg bowler i have always pushed the limit to the 200 game milestone. 195,197,193 but never a 200 game until last night.

i shot a 167,135,214. the 135 game i kept leaving the 6-10 or 7 pin and even a split. I also went with a radical inferno which i regret because the first and third game i rolled the storm virtual energy.
