Alot 3 ten pins and a 7 pin in my last game. What you gonna do.

We again only took 2pts. Argh.
My friend that shot 300 in his last game a week ago shot 300 in his first game this week. Amazing 24 strikes in a row.
Also the lane next to us one guy shot 280 279 237=796.
There were alot of high scores last night.

Unless you were a straight shooter. Me and Mike both seemed to struggle all night. All though no one was as bad as me in that last game

I know the 300 was with a VG again. I had my rogue and the guys next to us another VG.
Yeah the straight shooters did have a problem. I wonder what the problem was with the other cranker on our pair was?

I am getting closer to my goal of averaging 200. Last night was decent, Except for three missed spares ( two splits, and a chopped a bucket) 215, 234, 177 for a 626. In the last game I had the chop in the 9th and a 6,7,10 split in the 10th or my scores could have been higher. Had a nice look all night with my Sting. We took all 7 for a change, we have been struggling as a team on Wed. nights. I should be around 197 or so next week.

Now tonight I bowl in the same house, and for whatever reason I tend to struggle on Thurs. It is at the opposite end of the house but that should not be an excuse. I always seem to have a bad game, like last week....first two games over or near 200,..then a 119. frown Not tonight though, I'm going to turn it around..lol

Tim, some times it can be as simple as the people you are bowling with. Not saying they are bad teammates, it could be any number of things. It could be that your team all tends to play the same line on thursdays and it causes the lanes to transition faster.

Sk8,
There are some very good bowlers on Thursday, not to say Wed.nights are bad, but there is more money on Thurs.,alot of honor scores are bowled on thursday night, so maybe thats it I don't know. I also bowl anchor on Wed., so maybe there is a concentration factor there too..not sure. I'll get it together,...tonight. ( positive visualization...lol)

This is so true. There is a lot to be said for who you bowl with. That's why I quit my Wed night league.

Even, who you follow in the line-up can affect how you bowl or where in the line-up you are. I know I can bowl anchor and take the pressure, but my average jumps 10-15 pins at leadoff. I bowl better following the opponent's anchor.

Last night was a good night. 5 righties and 5 lefties. Our lineup is Lefty, Righty, Lefty, Righty, Lefty. I was high man with 711. 235, 238, 238. Joe struggled most the night but was big when it counted. Last frame 3rd game, Joe is anchor for our team. So after 1 ball each from both anchors (Joe struck, the other shot an 8 count) we are down by 19. The other guy misses both pins and Joe struck twice more and we won by 1 pin. I think Joes game was liek a 179 or 189.

I'm always torn about that. You come through in the 10th, striking out to win, but you do it with a 170 and 2 missed single pins. I have had my share of those this year. Yeah, you were clutch, but it shouldn't have mattered. I suppose in the end, a win is a win.

I have beat myself up over missing an easy spare and losing game game by less than 10 pins. But being how this a team effort and my average isn't going to win me any money, it's all about points over average. It really doesn't matter, come league time (in most cases), that as long as you win points it doesn't matter how well or bad you bowled.
