first time ever playing in league tonight and im pretty happy with how i played scorewise, BUT i had WAAAAYYYYYYYYY too many open frames that it was disgusting. but overall a pretty good start to my league career.
1st 167 4 opens 5 strikes 2 strikes and 9 in the 10th to save this game from total disaster
2nd 170 x open x x x x open x open open ! if i could have converted 2 of these 4 opens i could have been over 200
3rd 156 4 opens only 3 strikes kinda disappointed with this one
league starting avg 164
im going to be seeing a coach on sunday and hopefully next wednesday i will do better and break 200 and lessen my opens .
That sounds vaguely familiar....
Shot a 711 today for the first week. I bowled in the same league last year, but this time the league is on the other side of the house, and the shot is MUCH drier. Instead of playing 9 to 5 with my Copperhead, I'm playing 13 to 5/4 with my Smokin'. Probably not the best line, but it worked. I might try and ball up again and play further inside next week.
First game I had 99 in the fifth due to a couple single pin pick ups, then struck through the 9th. I got on the side of the ball in the 10th frame and it took off leaving me the 3-4-6-7-10 for a 208 game. The second game wasn't much different. Pretty much all strikes and nine spares, except for a 2-8 spare and a missed 10 pin. Finished out with a 224 game. Last game I started carrying my pocket shots. Went front 9, then dropped the ball for it to go a little high and leave a 4 pin for a 279 game. I hit the pocket 31 out of 33 shots. I love house shots, it's really a morale booster. Series total: 711. Hopefully I can jump up 5 pins from last year and finish with a 228 average. I think if I can stay focused every week it shouldn't be hard. House shots do make you lazy, though, so we'll see.
