We need some Drilling advice.

My wife has a GameBreaker drilled for a left handed delivery and throws a right handed backup ball.
The Problem:
Anybody ever see a right handed bowler throw a backup ball that has the track on the left side of the ball just like a right handed hooker?

My wife has thrown a backup forever and is not about to change and we are trying to get more finish on the ball as she leaves lot of splits. I'm sure this rotation pattern is killing the ball action. I'm not even sure why it hooks at all with that track where it is.

The question we need answered is:
How do we drill the ball to get it to flip over so the track is on the right hand side of the ball (as looking at it with the fingers up, thumb down) like a left handed bowlers ball would look.

Thanks for looking

First welcome to the site Hoppy.

I've never really paid attention to the track of any of the back up bowlers I've bowled with but it would seem to me they would still track on the left side of the grip just because of the way the ball would come off of their hand. The ball will still tilt to the side the index finger is on. This is just going by holding my ball and making a movement that should lead to a back up ball. It makes even more sense considering Joe Slowinski's back up ball drill to help bowlers stay more behind the ball.

So in my opinion no drilling will change the track to the other side, so it's either she lives with it or learns a more conventional hooking method. That's just my educated guess maybe some others that have a little more experience with back up bowlers can make things a bit clearer.

Thanks for your interest and reply.
Thinking about what you said, I'm not sure now if it makes a difference which side of the finger holes the track is on.

I guess there is not a lot of interest or knowledge on backup ball layouts. Wish I could get her to change but I don't think it's going to happen.

Again, thanks for replying.

If she throws a backup ball, have it drilled as if she was a lefty bowling a standard hook (but fitted for her right hand).

It's drilled for a lefty now. Pin and cg are on the left side (fingers up position). She gets the ball to move left to right by turning the wrist clockwise at release but doesn't turn the thumb pass 12:00 to get the ball over enough to get the ball to track on the right side of the ball. The ball tracks on the righties side but hooks like a lefty but with no punch (if a 12# ball can have punch).

Just trying to help her get a few more pins as she's getting down about all the splits.
