Welcome back to bowling

Week 1 in the books for me. Not exactly the start I wanted to get off to in either one. Started out last night being hot and humid both outside and inside the bowling center and just did not have a good look on a shot I've been practicing on all summer. A lot of over/under and ended up shooting 530.
Tonight in the scratch league had an even worse shot. I was a little more prepared and brought a few extra balls for different things I might run into (also hadn't bowled at this particular house all summer so didn't know what to expect really). But I was really was not at all expecting a shot where you couldn't lay it down anywhere outside of the 12 board without it taking off. So had no choice but to move in and my Ridiculous Asym kept me in the pocket most of the night and I actually was on point with my spare shooting. Got out of there with 193, 204, 211 for 608, but bowling anchor that was not good enough. Opponent shot 739 and really the only chance I had to take a point off of him was in the last game. If I had struck in the 9th, 10th, and 11th I would have locked him out but instead ringing 7 in the 9th and 8 pin in the 10th and instead of a possible game in the 240s merely snuck into the two-teens.
Long season ahead, not going to get too discouraged. Last year I definitely peaked early in the season and the whole 2nd half was a huge letdown so the goal this time is to get better as the season progresses.
