I imagine there's probably a lot of memory (remnants of the house shot) on the lanes where they put the PBA pattern. You're right about them not getting stripped very well. The opposite is usually true in a lot of centers after putting a sport shot down- the outsides stay wet for a few days until they can get what's of the pattern off the lanes. That's a big part of why the PBA machine puts down a pattern that plays nothing like a lot of the patterns you see in your PBAX leagues.
