well i traveled with this lefty almost all the time for awhile before i left the game. If either of us won or did well in a tournament we would cover each other's expenses for that particular trip. worked out pretty well because if it was a lefty shot he was in and vice versa. We did very well in the Hoinke doubles a few times. We bowled in PA a lot as well as NJ and Delaware.
I won a tournament years ago in Odenton and took 2nd in a tournament (4 game format drop low game) in Crofton MD. Ray Shackelford beat me by 80 pins with an 856 for his 3 high games. His first game was 146 because he wasted the game to line up. pretty smart and I use that strategy anytime i can now.
I will probably pick up on mapping out tournaments again as i get my arsenal and fits up to date. I'm hitting local tournaments and did win two of them so far. one singles and one doubles. they were small events but the way i'm looking at it is a win is a win.
What i plan on doing for travel now is when i go somewhere, i will see what events are being held in the general areas i am passing through and hit them hopefully with the outcome of paying for most or all of my trip. I love this approach because i get to meet new bowlers and it is low pressure because i'm on 'vacation' right?
haha.. hopefully we can win a doubles tourney somewhere someday eh??
