Well things didn't go well, at least after the first game. I went games of 202, 134 and 133 for a 469 set. First game I was solid in the pocket for 8 strikes, light for 2 splits which were my only opens that game, completely missed the pocket twice,

The History of Candlepin Bowling by Ryan Lepore @ 2 minutes 14 seconds ago

Here's a website that tells the history of candlepin bowling. And it also says that the very first 4 automatic free-fall pinsetter machines for candlepins were installed in 1949 over at Whalom Park in Lunenburg, Massachusetts. "But Whalom Park i

I loved the magic carpet when I first used it. It soon developed a mean irritation on the back of my thumb. It might've been because I didn't open up the thumb enough to compensate for the thickness of the carpet. I bowl much better now with a tighte

Re: Gutter Balls by BowlerBob @ Today at 09:05 PM

Last week I was bowling fairly normal and following a couple strikes & spares I bumped my leg and sent it into the gutter. I hung my head in shame. But I'm improving, I used to get about 1-2 gutters a night, now I'm 1 every 2-3 nights. But it re

The 220-230 area seems to be my 'hard to cross' point. I've had a couple 240's, but getting consistently above 200 is still difficult for me.

Smokers that bring their last toke into the center with them. It's bad enough that they stand at the front door. I would have restarted bowling 10-12 years ago except for all the smokers in the alley. You couldn't breathe.

Bowled the provincial youth championship today. Survived the first round with a 1004 6-game score (including a 570 for the last 3 games to jump 5 spots and into the cut) to move on to tomorrow. Can't wait to see how that goes. It's scratch, though, s

How about a Barnes clone minus the problems on tv? In multiple game formats not many bowlers want to bowl against him, but a one game winner take all is where he tends to have issues. They have quoted several of the PBA bowlers about that.
